DIRECTOR: Soeur Etienne
The MZIBAZI children home was founded
in 1954 and houses today 39 children from the age of 3 months to 3 years
old, all motherless, however, some still have a known father. Only 2 out
of the 39 children have contracted AIDS, and they are taken care of by
23 staff members, as well as charity workers from switzerland. The last
help received from the goverment dates back to 1994, and the MZIBAZI center
survives entirely on donations from differents organisations. SISTER ETIENNE
tries to stay in contact with family members hoping to be able to give
the child a chance for a future "family life" with grand parents
or other family members...She has succeeded well so far which is why we
have chosen to help the MZIBAZI CHILDREN HOME.
