Sanyu babies' home was founded in 1929 by a Missionary sister Milnes Walker. The mission was and continues to be one of receiving and caring for the parentless and needy children, as well as finding foster parents for them. The home cares for children from the age of 1-day-old babies to the age of 5 years.

There are now 39 children at the home.

ACCOMPLISHMENT :
During our last visit, Orphaid appointed a psychologist, George SEBANENYA, to give a lecture once a month at the orphanage (in luganda, local language).
His lectures will be based on how to handle babies with care, and learn how to listen to their cries and understand their fears. We must say that George is offering his help on a voluntary basis. We are very happy to work together on this project.

NEEDS OF THE ORPHANAGE:
- Washing powder
- Nappies, dry milk (1st age) -
- Clothes from 0 to 5 years old
- Medications

PROJECT:
In addition to the usual needs, we would like to pre-pay the electricity bill for the year 2004. This amounts to £50 per month, so a total of £600 must be collected.
